چکیده

Abstract The technical importance of paraffins as phase change materials (PCM) in heat storage systems increases. Knowledge on the thermal conductivity is necessary for design and optimization systems. However, most solely liquid state has been sufficiently investigated. For solid state, precise data are only known a few paraffins, while generalized values available remainder, some which contradict each other. In this study, measurement setup based modified guarded hot plate method developed. It used to investigate several paraffines including pure n-docosane its compounds with different types concentrations graphite. determined be 0.49 W m −1 K . A particle size 200 μm spherical shape turns out optimal increase conductivity. This allows compound 10% graphite by factor three compared paraffin. Furthermore, significant differences from literature found.

Thickness-dependent thermal conductivity of encased graphene and ultrathin graphite.

The thermal conductivity of graphene and ultrathin graphite (thickness from 1 to ∼20 layers) encased within silicon dioxide was measured using a heat spreader method. The thermal conductivity increases with the number of graphene layers, approaching the in-plane thermal conductivity of bulk graphite for the thickest samples, while showing suppression below 160 W/m-K at room temperature for sing...

Viscosity and thermal conductivity of stable graphite suspensions near percolation.

Nanofluids have received much attention in part due to the range of properties possible with different combinations of nanoparticles and base fluids. In this work, we measure the viscosity of suspensions of graphite particles in ethylene glycol as a function of the volume fraction, shear rate, and temperature below and above the percolation threshold. We also measure and contrast the trends obs...

Investigation on Thermal Conductivity and AC Impedance of Graphite Suspension

Over the past decade, some groups have reported that nanofluids, which are liquids containing suspensions of nanoparticles, have substantially higher thermal conductivity than that of the base fluids. However, the reported high thermal conductivity sometimes cannot be reproduced. Theoretically, potential mechanisms leading to this enhancement are still under scrutiny. In this thesis, we present...

Colloidal graphite/graphene nanostructures using collagen showing enhanced thermal conductivity

In the present study, the exfoliation of natural graphite (GR) directly to colloidal GR/graphene (G) nanostructures using collagen (CL) was studied as a safe and scalable process, akin to numerous natural processes and hence can be termed "biomimetic". Although the exfoliation and functionalization takes place in just 1 day, it takes about 7 days for the nano GR/G flakes to stabilize. The predo...

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
